The tasting notes by Jake Emen are spot on again. This is a nice sipper with a strong peat note (peated Scotch noobie). Sweet like apple juice and very crushable at 61.5 abv. It's definitely a strong pour but I'm enjoying it. The peat is lite compared to Ardbeg but you'll still taste it. Batch: PW1015

Release date 9/17 Batch 17 113.7 proof Overwhelming citrus, distilled in Indiana. I usually love a high rye bourbon but the balance is lacking to me on this bottle.

Peated whisky is pulling into it's web. I'm new to Scotch but I'm starting to understand the appeal of peat. Peat is giving me an experience that most bourbons don't. I wish Scotch was more comparable in price but I'll be keeping a few offerings at the very least on my bar.

On my second bottle so I don't hate it. It's a mouthful of malty fruit. This has tons of flavor and viscousity compared to bourbons at this abv.

Recommend if you like rye and can find it at $60 A notch above Pikesville, which is also worth buying if you can't find Rare breed rye. Wild turkey 101 rye profile is spot on without the extra abv.

Not your normal rye flavors. This is my first Texas whisky and the funk is in your face! For me, the Texas funk takes over the nose like a peated Scotch would. A quality whisky at a good price but I rarely reach for this bottle. Edit: I love this bottle now, go figure. Turns out whisky is good. Tons of spice and chocolate.
