I’m not a huge fan of cognac and this one doesn’t punch you in the face with robust grape like most do. It’s softer around the edges, yet refined. Definitely takes on more of the characteristics of the oak barrel. Which makes sense because of the “X.O.” The oak components make it more up my alley as a whiskey aficionado. Definitely worth the price for an X.O. Especially if you intend to mix it into cocktails like I do. But also much fine enough to drink on its own. Albeit, It does taste like a great cognac watered down to 80 proof. It can taste a bit thin as opposed to full bodied. And it is definitely a muted version of what you’re used to. That’s not a bad thing for me though. As I said above the oak comes through and that’s why I’m a fan. There’s no info about this cognac anywhere. So it was a gamble buy. Definitely worth the purchase. A little too easy to drink!

Do not underestimate this just by itself on a nice big rock. Or rocks. Depending on what you have. With a lemon peel. I think I just found my favorite way to consume Jagermeister. Great in cocktails too. Please don’t throw this in the freezer. All good spirits get dulled when brought down to freezing temps without dilution. This is no different. Only bad booze tastes better chilled in the freezer. Jager has come a long way to being redeemed for me since those disgusting and hazy jager bomb days.

I like this a lot. Probably a little more complex than the Blanc. Haven’t tasted the Rouge yet. I believe this is a sort of mix of the two. Don’t quote me on that though. Notes of bittersweet oranges and a floral, grassy middle. Finishes a little bitter. Just the way I like it. Great for a hot afternoon picnic. Probably great in cocktails. P.S. - I tasted this at room temperature right after purchase. Will probably improve when tasted chilled.
