Lock Stock & Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey 16 Year
Rye — Canada
Reviewed December 11, 2019 (edited January 7, 2022)Spicy, of course. Vanilla, of course. Oak, of course. Me thinks drinking such deliciousness helps me summon my inner Hemingway. 'Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.' There is.....just a bit more LS&B 16 yr left in my glass. -
Del Maguey Pechuga Mezcal
Mezcal Joven — Oaxaca, Mexico
Reviewed December 7, 2019 (edited July 7, 2020)A little disappointing. Standard mezcal on the nose. Starts off strong on the alcohol notes. Very little. Wheres the backbone in this Mezcal. After 10+ min the sweetness appears, but not much else. Lacking depth and complexity...the Independent Party of Pechugas. -
Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 1
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 18, 2019 (edited July 11, 2020)If Marshawn Lynch put his namesake to a bourbon, this would be the one. Beast mode from the first sip. I believe my teeth have whitened 3 shades since I started drinking this. If this bourbon could be quoted it would state "Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you." -
Lock Stock & Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey 16 Year
Rye — Canada
Reviewed November 18, 2019 (edited July 11, 2020)Giggity. Giggity. Giggity. So spicy, so smooth. These are flavors of which my mouth has no reference points. Easily my favorite high rye, surpassing the LS&B 13. Can the 18 be any better than this? -
Del Maguey San Pablo Ameyaltepec
Mezcal Joven — Puebla , Mexico
Reviewed November 18, 2019 (edited April 19, 2021)The best of the 7 Del Maguey's I've tried so far. Great from the first pour. A bit of Raicilla funk and fruits on the nose. Cotton candy and sweet fruits with nice warm and mildly smoky finish. This is good mierda!
