Watershed Barrel Strength Bourbon Finished in Apple Brandy Barrels (Batch 001)
Bourbon — Ohio, USA
Reviewed January 18, 2021May have gotten unlucky with a bad batch, but got a bottle and tasted with friends. The unanimous consensus was that this is truly astringent. We poured it down the drain. Tastes like what I imagine paint thinner or nail polish remover would be. Tried adding some drops of water to it, and it did not open up any bourbon flavours. Instead, it tasted like cough syrup. I truly hope that I've just gotten unlucky with bad batches because I have sincerely tried to root for this smaller distillery. Extremely disappointed.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose - heavy notes of caramel and vanilla - classic bourbon corn and honey, alcohol not overwhelming Palate - floral, buttery, sweet, rich and oily, vanilla, caramelized cherry, notes of oak, spices at the end shine through Finish - long and warm, slowly goes down Solid bourbon. Don't know how it compares to the previous cask strength versions, but I'm not disappointed with this at 108.3 proof. Enjoyable and complex bottle for 60 USD.60.0 USD per Bottle
