Nose - sweet aroma, grain with predominant orange notes, oak notes Palate - thin, muted, citrus and somewhat nutty with more spice than expected for 80 proof bourbon, hint of oak Finish - muted spices, short to medium Easy sipping but was not impressed by flavor. Poor value for $50. Would not reach for this bottle again. Will hopefully be able to find a place for this with cocktails / share with beginner whiskey drinkers50.0 USD per Bottle

Old Grand-Dad 114 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 13, 2021 (edited September 16, 2021)Nose - full of spices and vanilla, heavy on the spice Palate - sweet and spicy, vanilla forward with full bodied mouthfeel - more complex than expected with a $30 bourbon, leather and oak at the end of the palate, quite pleasant Finish - medium to long, the notes of leather and oak shine through on the finish This is one of the best bang for your buck bourbons out there. Don't sleep on OGD11430.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose - sweet caramel and vanilla, notes of spices Palate - complex flavors of the classic wheated profile of Weller. Fruity with vanilla heavy notes. Notes of caramel apple. Similar to the Weller antique with more spice at the end. The complexity isn’t significantly different than its lower proof sibling but less oily mouth feel. Still quite full bodied and very pleasant Long lasting warm finish. Oak and hint of tobacco shine out at the end

Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 FAE-01
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 8, 2021 (edited October 1, 2021)Nose - deep notes of caramel, dried fruit, molasses, vanilla Palate - good mouthfeel, full bodied, delicious notes of vanilla and toasted fruit, opens up to oak and tobacco Finish - long, warm finish that travels down the throat with notes of tobacco and oak that linger in the mouth I have a high expectation of the Makers Mark wood finishing series and the private selects. This did not disappoint. FAE-01 is a stellar bourbon60.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose - classic bourbon notes, vanilla and hint of cinnamon spices, nothing stands out otherwise Palate - it is a thinner mouthfeel than expected from a barrel proof bourbon, starts with vanilla and opens up with floral and citrus notes. not overly complex Finish - spicy finish but not much of a Kentucky hug, short to medium finish OHLQ barrel pick - solid weeknight pour, nothing unique or outstanding that I would be too excited to share50.0 USD per Bottle

Maker's Mark 46 Cask Strength
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 1, 2021 (edited September 24, 2021)Nose - classic caramel and vanilla, nothing too unique Palate - richer than regular makers cask, consistent notes of the classic wheated bourbon flavors. Finish - baking spices open up with medium to long finish. Very pleasant bourbon to sip on. No one note juts out, but a well balanced medium to full bodied bourbon. -
