Tastes

Nose is quite fruity. Reminds me of pears and raisins. However the palate is disappointing. A little spicy and oak-y but not much else besides that. Would not buy this expression again.

Nose: Oak, light floral aromas, light honey sweetness. A faint earthy smoke, like the remnants of a bonfire. No specific aroma overpowers the others. Palate: A combination of a light honey sweetness and a relatively subtle peat and smoke. Stronger than expected for a 48% ABV. It's good but IMO there's better options at this price point ($95 for me).

Overall, one of my all-time favorites. Very affordable, non-chill filtered, non-artificially colored. Wonderful balance of smoke (reminds me of smoked meat, not medicinal like Laphroaig) and a lemon/lime sweetness.
