This was actually the “Baller” cask. Japanese style single malt from an American distillery. Wow what an interesting Whiskey. Very easy on the nose but smacks you with an array of flavors. I get sweetness from the barley malt, earthy, citrus and chocolate. Mild finish and lingering sweet/bitter. Definitely something to share with someone who would appreciate the complexity. Or by yourself:)65.0 USD per Bottle

Shieldaig 18 Year Speyside Single Malt
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 26, 2018 (edited September 25, 2022)This one surprised me. It’s an inexpensive scotch that I believe to be undervalued. The 12 year was a bit abrasive and didn’t impress me but this one was a pleasant surprise. -
Tomintoul Tlàth
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 25, 2018 (edited December 13, 2020)Definitely gentle as the namesake implies. It’s a bit sweeter that I typically like and I find it a bit one dimensional. The flavor profile is nice but it falls off quickly and has a bit of an absent finish.
