One of the most complex scotches I have ever had. The campfire analogies are dead on. The initial peat and smoke come thru at first, then notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, spice, and even some light sweet fruity notes blend thru. Finally, a smooth, long, oily, peated finish brings the whole thing together. Every sip brings a new note that pushes thru. There is something about this scotch that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. It truly was a delightful complex experience.

Fantastic play between sweet and spicy flavors. Notes of vanilla a fruit come thru abundantly. Really smooth warm finish that lingers for quite some time. The name matches the whiskey perfectly and will definitely keep you warm on long winter nights. If you can find it buy two bottles, the first won't last very long.

The nose is cloves, cinnamon, and caramel. The rye really does come thru, oily mouthful and a light sweetness. A few drops of water will open up the light fruit and spicy notes. More companies should distill their own mash instead of buying from the big companies. This small batch is a nice refreshing uniqueness.

Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 23, 2017 (edited October 14, 2017)Sweet vanilla notes on the nose. Taste: caramel, vanilla, and oak 3 cornerstones of buffalo trace. Drinks like a spicier version of Blanton. Definitely worth the price at $35 if you can find it. -

Reviewed April 23, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)The nose is caramel and vanilla, very pleasant. Smooth taste of caramel and a light fruity taste. The mouthfeel is a light oily texture with a med spice finish. Overall this a well rounded bourbon with lots of intrigue, definitely one to have in your rotation. -
One of my favorite bourbons, because it is so different than most. Lots of complex flavors going on here. Light sweet notes of caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The high proof is great by itself, definitely try it neat first then add a bit of water to really open it up. Wonderful spicy Rye finish that lingers for quite some time. Last time I had this I paired it with a creamy smooth Perdoma Champagne series Cigar, fantastic!!!

Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 21, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Aroma is sweet and fruity, notes of honey. Palate is creamy and oily, sweet fruit and vanilla notes. It has a verrryy light spicy finish, a little smoke would have made this more complex. Overall a great experience!!!
