George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2018)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2019 (edited December 25, 2019)A generous taste courtesy of Pie Chef Guy. Wow. This is it. The grandaddy bourbon. Been looking forward to this for a long time. I immediately notice the strong scent of vanilla, butterscotch, toffee and brown sugar. The taste is buttery and sweet with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, magic, fairy dust, viper venom, stardust and a touch of oak. It's like Nilla Wafers on steroids, coated in maple and applesauce. This is DAMN good! -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 8, 2019 (edited September 9, 2019)This is a pretty decent bourbon. It smells of fresh apple juice and vanilla, with a touch of honey. The taste is strongly apple cider, cinnamon, nutmeg and hazelnuts. Simply put, it's good. -
The nose has light and playful scents of dried berries, fallen leaves, a touch of orange peel and oats. There is a slight yeasty component, kind of like walking into a bakery in the morning when the ovens are still warming up. The taste is smooth and silky, containing flavors of toasted almonds, sunflower seeds, dried apple and figs. There is a subtle touch allspice and french cookies in the finish. For lack of a better description, I would compare the taste to a really good trail mix.

Blanton's Straight From the Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2019 (edited September 3, 2019)Talk about a rare find, and an incredible bourbon. If you think the original Blanton's was good, then this stuff will knock you on your a$$. The nose has strong notes of butter, pears, raspberry jam and pecans. The taste is even better with flavors of honey, molasses cookies, light cinnamon, oil and butter. Very, VERY good. This is a treat and an experience. -
A generous taste courtesy of Pie Chef Guy. It's always good to start with chapter one. This wiskey has an interesting nose. It's earthy, kind of like dry moss, and has a light touch of buttery walnuts. The tongue is spicy with tastes of cinnamon, cloves, molasses and mixed nuts. This is a full figured whiskey with sharp edges and a soft center. It's good, simply good.

St. George Baller Single Malt Whisky
American Single Malt — California, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2019 (edited April 16, 2022)A generous taste courtesy of Pie Chef Guy. This is an odd one. The nose is surprisingly fruity and perfumy. There is a strange, almost medicinal smell kind of like a fresh band aid. The taste is not any better. It's like a spiced ace bandage dipped in rubbing alcohol and cherry medicine. Me thinks not. -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2019 (edited September 3, 2019)This is tasty and a great partner to some solid BBQ. The nose is full of maple syrup, oak and roasted nuts. The taste has wonderful notes of brown sugar, maple and shortbread. Good, simple and tasty. -
George Dickel TABASCO Brand Barrel Finish
Flavored Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2019 (edited December 10, 2019)Um, no. Just no. I tried this out of curiosity, and I wish someone would have talked me out of it or at least hit me over the head with something. We need to ask Elon Musk if he will let us use one of his rockets to fire every bit of this abomination into space. I think I need a shower.
