Tastes

On the nose I get christmas spices but with a surprising amount of vanilla for a rye. Mouth is more classic, with heat, spice, tobacco and a bit of astringency but with a very nice oily mouthfeel. Decent pour

Nose of burnt brown sugar, vanilla but also some fruitier green apple notes. Contrary to most I don't find the nose that spicy. Palate is spicier with anise, cinnamon and a touch of clove, with still some apple aftertaste. Not too astringent. Definitely on the sweeter end of the rye spectrum

Oh man this is good stuff. While the nose is a (typical) rich, deep vanilla, you get some nice fruity notes on the palate before the spice comes in

A very nice dram. On the nose, mostly honey and a little spice. On the tongue, some mild inital smokiness (though not peated) that opens up to spicy, fruity rich flavour

Surprisingly drinkable undiluted, but opens up and shows more complex aromatics with a teaspoon of water. On the nose, I get applewood smoked bacon. On the palate starts of sweet and mineral, before the heat kicks in leaving an astringency and slight green apple afternotes.
