Very smooth on the nose with a hint of caramel when held further away as well as a whiff of salt/brine up closer. The smoke comes out when tasting with salt again. If you wait long enough you’ll get a hint of fruit at the very end. It’s smooth but not an overly smooth scotch and doesn’t have a very deep or savory flavor to it. Really nice though.

Really good scotch. Cant tell too much of a difference between this and regular Lagavulin without a side by side comparison but seems potentially a bit sweeter due to the rum cask finish. Either way a great scotch and a deal coming in cheaper than regular Lagavulin 16.

Very sweet likely due to the port. Lots of caramel and molases on the nose and aftertaste as well as some dried fruit. Nice to sip straight and a little too sweet for manhattans in my opinion but a good overall whiskey.

Very smoky and peated on the nose but surprisingly smooth and less smoky on the tongue. Definitely has a whiff of salt to it which packs a quick punch which quickly mellows out. Much more yellow and light color than other scotch but a very good scotch all around
