Carmel and vanilla is pronounced, maybe some orange peel, hint of banana and cacao. It’s a decent bourbon, too hype driven though. Honestly I’ve had buffalo Trace store Barrel picks I enjoy more than this. And I’ve tried a few different barrels of blantons. 2.75 for being okay at $65. $40-45 would be just right and would give it around a 3.5-4. Sadly though, that’s what liquor stores buy it for from distributors in Texas :( there are better regular shelf bourbons. Springbank 12 Year Cask Strength (Batch 17)
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed September 29, 2018 (edited December 28, 2019)The best parts of every scotch region all in one glorious combo. High end of light peat smoke (more meaty than smoky), earthy/dirty and salty with a nice maritime minerality. Sherry is pleasantly balanced with the peat and earth, bringing forth a delicious dried red fruit characteristic; all wrapped in a layer of savory fragrance of florality, fruit, and caramel. Drink neat or with a few drops of water!
