Sonoma Distilling Co Cherrywood Straight Rye Whiskey Single Barrel Reserve
Rye — California, USA
Reviewed March 4, 2022Grassy and green grape nose with a ginger, Grassy, and slightly spicy taste. Long toasted bark finish. -
Very soft caramel, vanilla, orange and citrus nose with no alcohol burn that you have to get around at all. Caramel drizzle, with orange and a bit of banana nut bread taste. Medium soft caramel and orange finish. I was really hoping this wasn't as good as it turned out so I wouldn't want to find it as much but, I would love to find this at MSRP. Instead I run into these assholes that are trying to flip it for $800+. I don't mind trading but, I would never give into the flipping game. Anyways, it's worth a pour.

Angel's Envy Cask Strength Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels (2021 Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 16, 2022 (edited September 20, 2022)Sweet but, going into a tart grape nose with a tart caramel taste. Charred tart barrel finish. Not horrible but, not great. Got to try it for free. I personally wouldn't buy the bottle or order it. I think I might give it another try though. -
Blanton's Single Barrel Black Edition
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 16, 2022 (edited September 13, 2022)The nose is pretty soft with caramel and a bit of gingerbread and immediately it drops off on the taste with a watered down taste and then slightly picks back up with some caramel that is a bit brighter than the nose. The finish is short and all charred caramel. Very one noted. If you can't find this, don't worry because, you're not missing anything. If it was priced at like $25 and readily available it would be good to introduce someone to bourbon with this. -
Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 7, 2022 (edited February 22, 2022)The nose changes as it sits. Starts off with a dusty nutty nose and then changes into a cinnamon bun, gingerbread and light caramel nose. Light caramel and vanilla taste. Long cherry pie and into a burnt caramel chip finish. This is a store pick from K&L that I received as a gift from a friend I share whiskey/whisky with. I put 4 but, I think it's closer to 3.9. Definitely above 3.75 but, not a full 4. -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Coy Hill High Proof (2021 Special Release)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 1, 2022 (edited February 23, 2022)Heavy baked banana bread with caramel and vanilla on the nose with a light spicy cinnamon, chocolate raisin and burnt caramel chip taste. Long toasted milk chocolate barrel finish. This is the 71.9% abv one. I can't wait to run into the high proof ones as well. The Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C919 is hotter than this at a lower proof. Not that I didn't like it but, it's crazy how well the proof is hidden on this. Jack Daniel's definitely impressed me with this. Wish I had more bottles of this. Not only is it an amazing whiskey but, the bottle design is pretty damn sweet. -
