This expression is the second in the distillery's stave-finished bourbon series for 2021. It is made by finishing fully-matured, cask strength Maker’s Mark in secondary barrels fitted with the proprietary French oak staves. The barrels are stored in Maker’s Mark’s limestone cellar for additional aging, giving the cask strength bourbon a chance to interact with the wood staves.
It is bottled at 109.1 proof and available as of September, 2021. .

Tasting Notes
"The nose resembles a newly opened bottle of cola, but with the heat of a whiskey - think sweet spices, sarsaparilla, brown sugar, apple pie and a bit of pine. The palate takes on a sweet richness with milk chocolate, caramel, and vanilla, punctuated by sharp spices of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, anise and ginger. Black tea-like tannins, red apple, and a hint of roasted peanuts head to the back palate, carrying through the the otherwise rich and spicy finish. "
