Deep amber colour (natural). Cask strength (54.8%). Earthy, sherry nose with the expected dried fruit notes (raisins, dates). Rather dry, woody, astringent palate, some herbal notes. Medium length finish. Not unpleasant, but wouldn't buy again.

Batch 2 of the Smoketrails Traveller's Exclusive edition. A youngish whisky with fruity red wine influence and subtle peat. Rather dry finish. Has the edge (barely) over the first edition Manzanilla finish.

Rich and fruity, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla. Medium warming finish with spice and hint of ginger.

Rich, fruity and smoky on the nose. Dates, prunes, dried fruit, tobacco on the palate. Medium fruity finish.

Powerful and peaty. TCP, herbal, vegetal on the palate. Short, warming finish.

There are a few Contrasts: Peat Smoke out there. This is the version bottled in 2021 (10 years old), 35ppm. Overall, very disappointing. A pleasant peat smoke aroma but then fails to deliver on palate and finish. A liitle alcohol burn on the palate, with some medicinal astringency. Short, dry finish. The flavour develops more over time a few weeks after opening. Would not buy again.

Had this open for a couple of months now and it has greatly improved since the neck pour. Peat and smoke on tbe nose. Rich leather, oaky tannins, and smoke on the palate. Medium finish.

Not as fruity as the 3rd release. This expression uses highly toasted chocolate malt. This gives a coffee note that mutes the famous tropical fruity flavour. Medium orange / marmalade finish.

Wonderful nose of fresh ginger. Very tasty.
