Didnt care for it. Unbalanced, not smooth.

Meh. Completely unremarkable in every aspect. 18 USD for 200mL bottle (3 x 200mL bottle gift set together with CaskMates Stout and IPA editions)

I expected a LOT more from this given its price and other reviewers' comments. Not very good quality to price ratio. There are some very good 12 yo out there that deliver much better, eg Glendronach, Old Pulteney, etc.

Good value 20+ year Highland single malt. Lots of fruit, vanilla and honey.

Ardbeg An Oa draws together 3 batches of spirit matured in charred virgin American oak, first-fill ex-bourbon, and PX sherry butts, marrying them together in a specially built Gathering Vat. The Laphroaig PX Cask is triple matured, i.e. the spirit is sequentially matured, first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then quarter casks made from the same barrel type, and finally in European oak Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. Nose: definitely sherry forward with rich, dense fruits (dates and raisins) and minimal peat and smoke Palate: intense peat with a sherry kick; somewhat dry and astringent, iodine and ash Finish: longish with slowly decaying sweetness, an astringency at the back of the mouth persists
