Benromach Peat Smoke Sherry Cask Matured 2010
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 3, 2020Very enjoyable. The heavy sherry is matched well with a punch of peat. Great mouthfeel. So much so that the 59.9% alcohol content is not overpowering. Very nice, balanced, and flavorful whisky.80.0 USD per BottleBenromach Distillery -
Subtle smoke and peat on the nose. Very refined. Reminds me of being next to a fire in a small pub on a cold night on Islay. Sherry, oak, a whisp of smoke on the palate. A little spicey, and not too hot. Finish is long and pleasant with smoke in the background. This is a real class act. Debatably one of the best Islay whiskys I’ve had.
