Unmistakably Islay, and yet with a difference. Gone is the overcast Scottish Seaside, with notes of brine and seaweed, and in is the old time medicine. That cough syrup you loved as a child. It's rich and warm, with a real sweetness under its smokey facade, and yet it does all of this without the indelicate intensity of a Speyside. Very nice indeed.

Cragganmore 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 17, 2022 (edited October 28, 2022)A decent winey whisky. I wouldn't say it was anything special, it's 40%, 12 years old and from the Speyside region, I'd say that gives you everything you need to know. -
Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed June 7, 2022 (edited November 1, 2022)Smokey and powerful yet with a surprisingly light, almost coconutty flavour underneath. -
Old Pulteney Huddart
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 7, 2022 (edited January 8, 2025)Rich and full, the classic brineyness of the "Maritime Malt" with a lovely bourbon and smokey kick. The increased ABV over the 12 is very welcome, giving a rich depth that the 12 is missing.40.0 GBP per Bottle
