Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye
Rye — Manitoba, CanadaTastedA stunning rye, as we call it in Canada. I have two bottles from its award-winning year, one to drink and one to save. Caramel and burnt marshmallow. Toffee. Delicious. Top shelf.
J.P. Wiser's 15 Year
Canadian — CanadaTasted3 1/2 stars. Sweeter and a little more overpowering than it's square-bottled Wiser's brethren. Good but I prefer the 35yo, Legacy or Last Barrels.
Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
Flavored Whiskey — CanadaTastedSurprisingly tasty.
Rogue Farms Oregon Single Malt Whiskey
American Single Malt — Oregon, USATastedI'm guessing this is the same as Chatoe Rogue from Oregon but I can't find a listing for it. Anyway, I'll rate it here. Sourmash nose. Sweet, very sweet even for a rye. Tastes a little underrefined. Still, it does its job.
Liquormen's Ol' Dirty Canadian Whisky
Canadian — CanadaTastedSour. Rocket fuel. Drinkable, but just. Could use ginger.
Tincup American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USATastedSweet and pleasant. Dry finish. Highly drinkable.
Other Brandy — FranceTastedStinging bite. Lovely. A swell brandy.
Highland Park 18 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islands, ScotlandTastedHeavy tobacco. I can't distinguish the 12 from the 18. $160 when purchased, now over $200. Not for my palate.
J.P. Wiser's Last Barrels
Canadian — Ontario, CanadaTastedGentle nose. Spicy. Bold. Near overpowering. Needs a cube. Has a real bite. Three and a half stars.
A. De Fussigny Sélection Cognac
Cognac — Cognac, FranceTastedBiting. Lovely. Warming. Took me a while to warm to it but it's truly lovely.
