very invasive. it's like a dropkick of scotch to the face, ambush of the mouth. not much to the nose, not too sweet, but definitely sweeter than monkey shoulder... if you like peat, the finish dances with peatiness for quite some time. no complaints overall, I would definitely recommend getting a fifth of this. interesting enough..Jason's Wine & Spirits

absolutely horrible. forgot to get something to drink at work, so I had a shot of Evan black and Dickel to start the night cap. I started with Evan which I'm used to, but man going down the Dickel 8 is so unpleasant. I will admit after some aeration the nose has that buttery bourbon sweetness but the taste is just so awful.Jason's Wine & Spirits

Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed October 22, 2018 (edited November 17, 2018)Very strange tasting. A lot going on. I bought a shot and definitely noticed hints of IPA smell and flavor on the nose and pallette. It's weird, it's cool, you should get it, but not a small size. This would be a fun liquor to try with a bunch of different IPA pairings. I recommend getting a pint or bigger...Jason's Wine & Spirits -
Hornitos Black Barrel Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed October 11, 2018 (edited June 22, 2019)Night 1: My first few shots I was pretty disappointed but like many liquors, if you leave the bottle open while you sip the aeration changes the liquor in the bottle. Night 2: The next day after my first shots I noticed the nose was way more potent on my first shot. Right on the first pour, much more of that lovely creamy buttery bourbon vanilla sweetness, with a faint agave smell that's really only there if you're paying attention. Going down it's smooth enough, but not quite as smooth as better tequilas and better bourbons, definitely a hybrid whiskey/tequila taste. At this price it's something I think is worth a try if you are into whisky and tequila. In cocktails I suppose if it calls for a shot of bourbon and a shot of tequila you could use this for the taste of both, but definitely an interesting sipper, mostly for the nose though. I also agree with the many reviews remarking on rum hints on the pallette, maybe even oak-aged Brandy.26.99 USD per BottleJason's Wine & Spirits -
Jose Cuervo Especial Gold Tequila
Tequila Mixto — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed October 4, 2018 (edited December 8, 2018)Finally trying my first "mixto"... I really like the nose it's not a bad scent at all... after my first two sips I kinda expected something worse with all the stigma but I can see why Cuervo puts the label "Tequila" on the front. it might not be 100% agave but tastes very similar to regular tequila to me. I'd like to compare this to cazadores and El jimador... but till next time...Jason's Wine & Spirits -
What once smelled to me like candy puffed peanuts to an untrained schnauze, I gotta say after having lots of scotches I'm getting a lot off this nose, lots of things going on. Very buttery. Taste-wise it goes down smooth enough, to me it tastes kind of nutty and peaty, finishes kinda quick, the tail end is so faint but it lasts on a low hint that's barely worth reporting about, but all in all at this price not bad. Scottish version of Bushmills in my opinion...Jason's Wine & Spirits

sweet nose like slightly melted butter. pretty, smooth, nice long finish that you can linger and think about. Smokey elements Left on the tongue. no burn, no complications, gold tin seems appropriate, Dewar's did alright on this one. not sure if I'd recommend this or scratched cask as Dewar's finest achievement. there's a little left in my bottle for an A/B comparison, I will let you folks know when I can finally compare the two. I guess that will determine which gets 5 stars and which gets 4. I would assume the scratched cask so I'll leave this as a 4 for now....Jason's Wine & Spirits
