Tastes

Smelled the corn immediately on the nose. The palate is bright and smooth, with a very slight hint of spice as you swallow. Sweet with a hint of vanilla and caramel, it’s an easy pleasant drink. The grain is the dominant flavor, having picked up just a smidge of flavor from the barrel.

Flavor was good but too high a proof for me. The alcohol blocked a lot of the enjoyment of the rest of its complexities.

Smooth and full bodied. A strong caramel scent before first sip. A very pleasant drinker.

Smells of cherry and orange, also reflected on the tongue. Bit of a Kentucky hug and lingering cherry.

A pleasant drinker, this bourbon has some of the same traits as Michter’s Rye. A nice smooth sip brings more coffee/toffee notes for a fuller deeper taste than the rye. Also a but if leather taste lingers.

Flavor good, but a couple years after my first taste I realize it’s not as smooth as I originally thought. Actually has quite a burn. But still a good value taste for price.

A wild ride for a whiskey tasting! Peppery on the nose, strangely warmed my tongue on the palate and finished with a tobacco flavor. As I sit with it, memories of smoking cigars on special occasions with friends flood my mind. Not an easy drinkier, but certainly fascinating.

Spicy, with a kick going down and a prominent lingering cherry flavor.
