Tastes

I had high hopes and this Rye knocked it out of the park. It has a simple elegance to it. It has a rye kick to it but not like an american rye, but it comes in swingjng with nice notes of spice and gentle warmth to it. When i try it neat it has a sweet applely finish but over ice it finishes off with a peaty/earthy note. So not the most complex flavor out there but a very good sipper.

I found this to be extremely pleasant to sip on. I sampled it neat and it wasn’t to strong on the initial bite. Also my palate isn’t complex as I have only been trying whiskeys for just a year now but it had the following notes. Baking Spices like Cinnamon and Allspice. A sweetness i could describe as redvind licorice with a slightly apple to it. And it finished with this soft wine taste. All in all i like it more than Redbreast 12 and i definitely will pick up another bottle down the road.
