Crafted at Irish Distillers' Midleton Distillery, Powers Irish Rye Whiskey is made from 100% Irish rye sourced from the Cooney Furlong Farm in Co. Wexford. The rye whiskey was aged in a mix of virgin oak, first fill and refill casks.
Bottled at 43.2% ABV, Powers Irish Rye will be released from 20th February 2023 in the US, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Dublin Airport and online at PowersWhiskey.com with other markets to follow in the coming months.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"This rye is on the "greener" side of the aroma and flavor spectrum (as opposed to bold and spicy). Aromas of fresh bay leaf and jasmine green tea mix with pear and subtle baking spices. The palate is similarly delicate and floral, with some hints of green bell pepper, honey, lavender hard candy, coconut, and nutmeg. This whiskey would be an interesting expression to use as the base of an Irish coffee riff made with tea instead of brewed coffee! "
