Sweetest ardbeg ive ever smelled. The peat and power are definitely there, but theres a sweetness unfer the smoke. The flavor doesnt disappoint, more mellowed and rounded than their standard peat and fire, on a bed of caramel and cane sugar sweetness. Smoke dominates the tail, which sticks around a long time. Absolutely lovely.

Subtle sweetness in the nose, molasses. Dark wood aroma mixed in. Wood dominates the flavor, a big hit with a fairly long tail. Flavors spread into chocolate and spice, but a deep heat like you'd get from a pepper. Musty and complex, hint of sweetness but mostly wood, chocolate, and heat. Quite interesting, very enjoyable.Kelnero

As much maple syrup on the nose as you'd expect. Body isn't syrupy and sweet like the stuff knob creek makes, I think the barrel finish saves it from that. The sweetness gives way to a sparkling rye finish, but the flavors are discordant for me. The sweetness up front makes the rye hit taste bitter. Interesting, not a favorite.JP Trodden Distilling

Smells sweet, hint of maple syrup. Flavors are powerful, bulig hit if caramel and maple up front and then tons of burn. The second half and the tail are all barrel, it's like you're just licking the wood. Flavors are great, but it's far too thin for the power. Definitely needs some richness. Better than the flagship, needs a touch of something more.JP Trodden Distilling

Coffee and chocolate on the nose. Beautiful stout flavors dominate the palate, chocolate mostly but with a good amount of sweetness underneath to carry it. There's some sparkling hops bitterness on the tail which is also interesting, the flavors are awesome but it's lacking body. Still very enjoyable.Stack 571 Burger & Whiskey Bar - Bothell
