Deep complex sweet smell, honey, molasses and age. Flavor builds quickly from the first hit, I get the rich creaminess first then a flood of honey and spice into a fiery long tail. Intense body, love how it develops over time. Like someone made a crescendo into a whiskey. Magnificent on all fronts.Bowmore Distillery

Bowmore Vault Edition Second Release Peat Smoke
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 24, 2022Aroma is farly faint, some oak and maybe a hint of iodine, but hard to pick out. Flavor is much stronger, tidal wave of wood and spice. Touch of peat to round it out, but excellent balance and fire. Medium to heavy richness to carry all the flavor. Exactly what you want a whiskey to be.Bowmore Distillery -
Sharper oak smell, maybe with tannins or something winey with it. Hit is quite intense, tastesich higher abv. All out assault of flavor, sweet, smoke, wood, wine, the more I drink it the less I feel the abv and the more the flavor shines. Would be perfect with some more complexity.Bowmore Distillery

Bowmore 10 Year Dark & Intense
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 24, 2022 (edited January 23, 2024)Peat aroma has a good amount of iodine. Good chunk of smokey peat on the tongue, with a hint of sweeter barbeque smoke. Body is medium thin, tail is lightning fast. There is some lingering flavor but the big hit of flavor from the start evaporates almost instantly. Well done, well balanced, not the full journey of many other islays though.Bowmore Distillery -
Cardhu Gold Reserve (Game of Thrones-House Targaryen)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 24, 2022Dark woody aroma. Light sweetness but predominantly oak. Very nice. Intricate aged taste, rich wood and mild spice, caramel vanilla sweetness. Body and flavor are balanced perfectly, long tingly tail. Well done.Lagavulin Distillery -
Talisker Select Reserve (Game of Thrones-House Greyjoy)
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed March 24, 2022 (edited October 10, 2022)Strong aroma, mild fruit and strong buttered popcorn. Flavor is equally good, butterscotch and sweet fruit, red grape without the tang. Maybe raisins. It's unfortunately lacking body, the flavor is magnificent but I wish it was much richer. Good amount of salt and wood on the tail. Only points it loses is the body, the flavors are perfect.Lagavulin Distillery -
Mossy floral aroma, peat and must. Flavor is a tidal wave of oak and caramel, perfectly blended. I'm sure there's peat smoke in there too but the balance and high abv just make the flavor one big storm. Rich and fiery, with an incredibly spicy tail. Best lagavulin expression I've ever had. 5+Lagavulin Distillery

Lagavulin Offerman Edition 11 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 24, 2022 (edited November 8, 2022)Heavenly smell. Spicy oak, maybe toffee. Could smell this forever. Deep oakey flavor, so much so that it's borderline bitter. Musty, tastes like it's twice it's age. Estringent tannin notes on the tail, but more pleasant than the 10 year.Lagavulin Distillery -
Lighter aroma, mostly barley and cereal for me. Flavor is rather mild to start, grows over time. Deeper sweetness, toffee and molasses but what I'm mostly getting is black tea that's been steeped too long. Mild tannin bitterness, definitely unique. Don't get much tea flavors in scotch so that's cool.Lagavulin Distillery
