Incredible. I’m revisiting my earlier review after spending more time with my bottle. Deep rye and oak spice up front, then comes the hops. The finish is long and reminds me of a dry stout beer. The spices linger, the hops dance on the sides of the tongue, until the next sip. I’m usually an Islay guy, but this is a top tier whiskey that you shouldn’t pass up.160.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: slight smoke, heavy plum/red wine. Slight lemon zest. Taste: Very smooth. Not hot. Plum, lots of oak spice. Depending on your palette, some smoke is present (I didn’t get much first go around, but did when tasting this again, after a bourbon). Finish: very, very long. Starts with oak spice on sides of tongue, finishes with a dry red wine that lingers forever. Hint of smoke.

Lagavulin Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed April 5, 2019 (edited April 10, 2019)Nose: sea salt, ocean air, peat, light smoke, red wine, dark cherries, slightest hint of orange peel Taste: immediately salt on the tongue, hint of smoke, peat and sherry intermingle with each other but the peat is still leading the way, spices (clove maybe), oak Finish: light smoke, tobacco, like a dry red wine, toasted orange peel, medium-ish length but then it lingers ever so slightly for a good while Everything I dig about Lagavulin, but with a nice twist.
