Tastes

Love the smell, chocolate on a warm summer day. As far as Irish whisky goes this one stands alone. Taste is somewhat Smokey, almost like a scotch. Taste at first is bland, but a quick swish warms up the taste and releases the flavor, like a cinnamon mixed with hops.

Easy on the nose, not overpowering with peat like other Islays. is soft, hint of chocolate and fruity aromas, hint of maybe strawberry and wood. Oily that lingers, reminds me of wooded pine forest, somewhat wild. My favorite Caol Ila.

Smells sweet with a hint of Carmel and brown sugar. Tastes about the same, lingers on the lips, smooth at first with a small burn/warmth as it goes down.

Subtle and smooth. Not harsh like their other younger Ryes.
