Tastes

Smell is amazing, strong, hits the back of the nose like a hammer. Taste is strong, maybe wheat and bananas? Tingles in the mouth and all the way down. Smokey and strong, but tolerable. I call it the ass kicker because of the ACV.

Can’t begin to describe this. Picked it up because I hadn’t seen a whiskey bottled in Colorado before. The smell is like astringent, and pungent. Tried this two different ways. Neat and on ice. Nothing makes it taste good. Tastes young, and unbalanced. No specific hints of flavor, just alcohol. Might try aging it in a small barrel at home to see if I can age it and make it better, but for now, I do not recommend.

Another one I can smell across the room. Smokey and peaty, like the ocean is at low tide. Taste is thick, peppery, and peaty. Maybe some floral notes and a hint of cinnamon. Ardbeg for the win.

The smell is a bit off putting, very grainy. The taste is smooth, maybe some vanilla and smoke, tends to linger on the back of the tongue. Bursts of what I think is lemon zest and other citrus.

Smell is superb, sweet with vanilla and chocolate. One of the few Ryes I enjoy on the regular. Spicy, a little oily like a mellow scotch, smooth and goes down without the typical rye burn.lingers under the tongue with hints of salt.

Smell is light, thin and sweet with hint of lemon? Tastes sweet, very mellow, weak, like something is missing, or I’m missing something. Salty, with maybe a hint of caramel. Not bad for the price.

I can smell this from across the room. Taste is what I’ve come to expect from Ardbeg. Oily, heavy peat that doesn’t over power. Hints of pepper and smoke. Tingles on the lips, very smooth. I’d drink this every night if I could find it regularly.

Doesn’t smell the best, but interesting on the palate. Oak and maybe hints of vanilla. Wouldn’t be an everyday drink, but a nice share with company.

Horrible. Taste like I just swallowed a mouthful of rubbing alcohol. Was hoping that the smell, also of rubbing alcohol, was not comparable to the taste. Feel like my money was wasted.

Smell is delightful and inviting vanilla and beans? like an old friend. Taste explodes and dances on your tongue. Goes down smooth with a hint of cinnamon maybe, and some sweet corn. Haven’t found a Knob that I do not enjoy.
