Sweet molasses and tobacco, slightly too strong of an alcohol hit (ethanol). Young and not very refined.

Notes of wood and a hint of ethanol, followed by hazelnuts and dried fruits. Round and smooth. Good whisky, but lacks a bit of complexity for the price point.
  3. Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Four Wood Bourbon

    Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

First real go at a bourbon, and what a start it is. Beautiful, complex nose of vanilla, citrus and smoke. Pallet of tobacco and tanned leather, opening to fruit orchards and citrus. It transports your mind to the South, sitting on the front porch in the evening sun.

Grew on me over time. Initially very harsh, but comes around with a tad of water and letting it sit.

Liked it a lot in earlier years, but it’s gotten worse over time. Very round dram, with raisins and oak notes.
