Very happily surprised by this Kavalan. I would prefer it compared to the Glendronach 12YO. Very smooth, sweet and oily. You can taste candied fruits, caramel and honey. I would say it’s multi-layered and perfectly balanced whiskey.

Nose: Smells slightly soapy/chemical. Fermented apples, seems young Glenfiddich and overall no highlight. Taste: You can taste some apples and there is some spiciness. Overall not rich in flavours and also flat whiskey.

It’s batch 2020 and I was happily surprised. Despite the high ABV, you could taste tropical fruits, vanilla and overall it’s very rich/complex taste. It’s quite smooth as well for 57.6% ABV.
