(Different pick, same recipe. 10 years 9 months) Just as advertised. Rich and spicy. My bottle is coming in at 106 proof so not aggressive at all. A drop of water brings out more of the mouthfeel and fullness of the juice. Tasty.

There’s definitely a touch of smoke that makes up the foundation of this one. The tropical sweetness is again here but right behind the vanilla and more classic bourbon nuances. Just as rich and big as I was expecting. Another solid release.

Lively, youthful, and flavorful. A very clean and spicy bourbon that even though shows how young it is, really makes for an enjoyable pour. Nose is aromatic with candy like nuances.

Not as mineral as the first release. More sweetness away from your typical Tennessee whiskey that reminds me more of a bourbon.

Rich classic bourbon flavors. Smooth and balanced. Like where the proof is since it delivers the right amount of sweetness. Way better than expected.

Little finish but a very clean and flavorful wheater. Make this your everyday pour if you want to enjoy a sweet Wheated Bourbon with some depth to keep it interesting.

(Barrel #1509) After tasting their small batch option I was curious to see how it would taste at cask strength. Not knowing which mash bill this barrel is bums me out a bit. But nonetheless the proof has added a little more flavor and depth to the profile. Very clean and smooth for being 124.2 proof. Get a little of that pot still flavor which is different. Darker fruits like raisins come to mind at the end. Really like it.

(This single barrel is 15E22 from Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY on 7/12-14/19) Proofed at 111, this is ridiculously smooth for that octane. At 49 months old, this provides a lot of flavor similar to what you would expect from a wheater. It’s soft and spicy, imagine going into a bakery and enjoying the smells. Now liquify that and taste it. Glad I revisited Wilderness Trail, this is a good one!
