For an allocated spirit that is also relatively low priced, I’m very happy to have snagged this one. I don’t have a pro palate, but I liked it. Smooth, not at all harsh, oily perhaps; overall delicious! I hope Barton brings it back!!

Ok, I’m old and my palate isn’t all that discerning, but it was incredibly smooth with just a touch of ice.

I’ve tried just about everything Crown Royal has made in the last 40 years, and I was eagerly awaiting this one. I did the sniff, the chew, the swish - all those things I’ve learned over the years about savoring that first try. I thought it was very smooth, but more-or-less tasteless. After the first sip, I tried a few drops of water. No help. Then I tried ice, and completely ruined it. I suspect it’s meant to be sipped neat, and it’s probably good for that. That’s generally not how I like my whisky, so I’ll pass.
