Strong caramel/butterscotch, then nuts and peanut butter. Delicious. ABC pick Barrel 4743 9 year (NAS) Neat in snifter. First pour on freshly opened bottle. Nose Initially, caramel, vanilla, leather, and oak. After 12ish minute rest, not a lot of change. Deceptive, curious to see how it opens up with som oxidizing. Add water and it smells of oak, leather, peanuts, caramel, vanilla. Palate Sweet fruit like raspberry on the front. Leather, caramel, vanilla, stale peanuts. Touch of oak. Add water and it sweetens. Caramel, vanilla, pepper/spice, oak Finish Black pepper Clove? Or proof numbing the mouth. Lingering oak Neat in Glencairn. Opened bottle. Nose Rested 15+ Sweet oak, roasted/stake peanut beam funk, caramel, toffee, vanilla. A bit of dark fruit after some swirls. Taste Dark fruit, dry leather and oak, caramel and vanilla, barrel spice Finish Oak fades out Mingles with tannin tingling And barrel char spice Overall Not my favorite KCSiB, but this will always be on the shelf. Delicious with a Beam punch -
