Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 18, 2021 (edited December 8, 2021)Really excellent on the nose. I get notes of strawberries and cream, brown sugar, vanilla, and hints of boiled peanuts. Big hit of vanilla oak on the palate - barrel char (possibly amped up by the "chiseled and charred" process?) and cherry vanilla Coke. Nice medium finish of brown sugar, cinnamon, and some dark fruits. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B521
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 27, 2021 (edited July 19, 2021)I am loving this pour. I get notes of maple brown sugar, rich oak, vanilla, and cherry on the nose. The palate reminds me of cherry-almond syrup, tobacco, and a great blend of oak and spice. The finish lingers for a while with more oak and brown sugar. -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 24, 2021 (edited September 3, 2021)This is a tasty pour. Nice notes of syrup, orange, and cocoa on the nose. On the palate, it's not very mouth-coating; it definitely drinks like a 90 proof whiskey. But I enjoy the notes of toffee and vanilla with a pleasant bit of oak in the finish. Not exceptional, but really solid -

George Dickel 11 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2008)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 20, 2021 (edited March 13, 2021)Peanuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and fresh fruit on the nose. More brown sugar, apples, and caramel on the palate. Medium-long finish with a slight alcohol burn. Notes of more fruit and caramelized sugars -
Sweet caramel and vanilla on the nose. Some spiciness present Buttery mouthfeel and more vanilla on the palate. Brown sugar and some fruitiness. Spiciness more present here over the nose. I noticed the rye spiciness seemed to increase the more it rested in the glass. Short finish - I can't pick out anything beyond a slight bit of alcohol spike and more sugars. Possibly some tobacco, but I could be convinced otherwise
