Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 26, 2019 (edited May 25, 2019)I had an idea this might be a gimmick, but it is really good. I like the regular Maker's, but it is not a favorite. This however, has potential. The good notes are strong and well represented. Lots of wood, vanilla and light smoke. It didn't seem as floral as regular Maker's but still had very good balance. IMO, it is worth the extra $ over the regular.11.0 USD per PourLuLu and Blu -
I really wanted to like this, but it is just not for me. I usually like the Beam offerings, but there were no Beam notes detected here. I am not saying this is bad or swill, it is just not what I like in flavor profile. I can see how the expert rating is low, while the user rating reflects a greater liking for BH.10.0 USD per PourLuLu and Blu

1792 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 26, 2019 (edited February 12, 2019)This was good not great. This was my first taste of a 1792 product. It had the typical bourbon profile, but not enough of the good notes. It seemed a bit thin and slightly watered down. I am hopeful that the single barrel will be a bit more to my liking.8.0 USD per PourLuLu and Blu -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 31, 2018 (edited May 24, 2019)I love the afterburn and cinnamon notes. Not as smooth or refined as the small batch. For the money, I recommend the small batch by far. I may have just gotten a bottle from a lesser barrel. Superior to many other single barrel bourbons, but not worth it's high price IMO. -

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 26, 2018 (edited May 25, 2019)A bit disappointed. IMO, this does not belong with the others. If you can find it in a bar, by all means give it a pour. Given as hard as it is to locate, I would not expend energy or call in favors to get it. There are many superior bottles that are plentiful. Thanks to my good friend who shared a pour. -
Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 26, 2018 (edited December 22, 2018)Very good. For $31 and a screw-on-top, I was expecting to be disappointed. This is very tasty. Not at all firey even given the ABV. It is a great neat drinker...if you can find it... Good Luck.
