Tastes

Nose • Oak spice, boiled dark fruit, some cherry, apple, good bit of orange Taste • Starts with oak, charred sugar, white pepper, anise, apple, and then a little heat. Mellows out to a lingering but light vanilla syrup finish with some tingling baking spices on the tongue. The proof is noticeable yet well balanced.

Nose • Honey, leather, barley, Taste • Candle wick, huge honey flavors, maple, slight christmas fir, smoked barley, ginger spices?, fruit (dried fruit, dates, raisin...) Wonderful stuff.

Nose • Sweet, cherry, cola, oak spice, vanilla, Taste • Sweet, mineral water, slight orange zest, honeybutter cornbread • Lingering light heat and burnt brown sugar on the finish

Nose • Oak, some corn sweetness, malt, some savory notes? Taste • Malt, golden brown sugar, oak spices on the tongue and lips, classic corn/rye bourbon flavors, some astringency/sour notes

• Nose: having trouble getting much in the highball glass • Taste: sweet, maple, slight oak vanilla, very smooth, almost a wheated level of sweet and smooth, brown sugar

Notes of brown sugar, honey, some malty notes, nice barrel notes but not very spicy or rye forward.

Starts herbal and slightly peppery, leaves a smooth sweetness on the tongue. Notes of rye, young oak, but very smooth and tasty. Some lingering heat.

The peat is gentle and also smooths out the rye. The peat shows most in the finish and is very mellow and not ashy or medicinal at all. Sweet smoke lingers. Ultimately may not be spicy or peaty enough for Rye fanatics and Islay fanatics, but I think it's very well balanced and tasty!

Much spicier on the nose than the original. Spicy, graham cracker, herbal bright pepper. The french oak is great but a bit much. Charred sugar notes.
