After some additional tasting experience, the harsh grain notes become more apparent and offputting.

Comapred an old 2010 bottle to the 2011. Nose: Mellow. Corn, some spice, toffee Taste: Sweetness, a little sour touch, rye spices come and go. Finish leaves lasting oak, some apple, and a little heat - yum! While my 2010 bottle might be a bit oxidized, i think the 2011 is ultimately sweeter, spicier, and better. The 2010 was smooth from when I first pened it, but the 2011 has some wonderful spice notes.

Nose: Barley, oak, lots of honey, tiny amount of cinnamon, love this nose Taste: Serious cinnamon notes, oak spice, thick honey texture, balanced sweetness, slightly fruity Balance: 84/100 Texture: 87/100 Enjoyment: 85/100 Overall: 85/100

Limited release barrel #8597 finish. 1yr 4mo in Rye barrel. Nose: dry, fruity, rye, young oak, white pepper, tannic and oaky like a peppery white wine Taste: Starts sweet, heads straight to heat and a pepper, short to medium rye finish with some heat and slight sourness Balance: 62/100 Texture: 74/100 Enjoyment: 77/100 Overall: 75/100

Nose: Sweet, sherry, raisins, Taste: light, vanilla, coconut, smooth, fruity peppers, brown sugar notes, Extremely smooth and ultimately not completely impressive.

Nose: Apples, spice, banana, sherry Taste: Smooth, slightly sour, spices, bright berries, complex, some black pepper and heat lingers with the finish

Nose: Slightly sweet, peat, damp wood Taste: Smooth, light barley n grains, light peat, a bit of slight wood flavor Enjoying much more than before. Good stuff although pretty mellow and light overall.

Nose: Salt, malt, cured seaweed, peat, nice savory meaty sweetness, peanut butter, Taste: Slight peat, salted roasted peanuts, some fruity tartness, and bright peppery notes. Very rich. Damn, this is good stuff. Really balanced. Perfect for my tastes. Very pleasantly surprised.

Nose: Malty yumminess into dark fruits, apple juice, light peatiness, sweet, sherry notes, Taste: slightly astringent, green apples, peaty finish. I prefer the nose.
