    Definitely the finest bourbon I have ever tasted! Depth to sink one’s soul into. Ten minutes after my second sip, I was still finding new flavors. Toffee, cherry, candy corn. Touch of soft tobacco. Very sweet, but strong flavor. Medium smoothness. DO NOT consume this with anything else — to pair with anything (except possibly water) would be a grave injustice. Closest second I’ve had to this would be the William Larue Weller 2016, which makes sense, coming from the same distillery. $200 for 1.5oz pour.

    Overall tastes average for a semi-aged. No over-arching flavor. Better than a white rum, but not even close to a dark. Purchased a 50ml in Jamaica for $4

    Like most Basil Hayden's, it's very light on the palate. This dark rye is quite sweet, even for BH. Little to no bite, so you can down a glass of this very fast... or make it disappear into a mixed drink. Good for a common drink, but you'll be looking for far better if you want something to savor.

    Strong, and definitely spicy. Smoother with an ice cube added, which is when the vanilla comes out.

    Very sweet and rich. My first dark rum, and amazingly tasty! Supposedly only available from restaurants in Key West... and the distiller’s shop.

    Warehouse NS, barrel 48-1K Dec 2017. High spice on the nose, with a pepper-ish center. Light taste, though a good caramel flavor. There might be some cacao there, it very much unsweetened, and on the back of the tongue. Medium linger with no notable flavors. Not bad, but I think I’m better off with my Blanton’s. Edit: After getting a full-size bottle (instead of samplers) I’ve warmed up considerably to this! Given the national shortage of Blanton’s, I’m making this my standard day-to-day bottle for straight pours.

    2016 - A fine taste, but a touch more on the harsh side -- some small turpentine notes. A good bit of butter, though, and a wonderful sweet finish.
