Virginia Distillery Co. Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
Blended Malt — Multiple Countries
Reviewed October 12, 2019 (edited March 29, 2020)Starts with a port and charred barrel nose. First sip of this is quite smokey. You can tell this is from Scotland and there is an over ripe berry and grape fullness to it. Gives way to a peppery burn that is quite long lasting, but lacks any strong flavors. -

Cask & Crew Walnut Toffee Whiskey
Flavored Whiskey — New York, USA
Reviewed October 12, 2019 (edited July 31, 2023)On its own this is like liquid candy. Which can be nice, but I prefer to 50/50 with barrel strength Makers Mark for a really nice mixed drink. -
Let's start by saying this is a nice drink on the rocks. It is more of a cocktail in a bottle than a straight whiskey so all of the negativee comments can pound sand. What it isn't - a top shelf straight drinker. What it is - a lovely port and whiskey blend that does fantastic over a few cubes. My reccomendation is that you have a healthy pour over ice and ignore the naysayers!
