Nose : earthy Smokey sweet nose. Taste: toasted brown sugar with a nice nutty smoke note. Overall a good bourbon.

Taste: Banana foster with notes of caramel. Nice sweet whiskey. The barrel proof is a beautiful thing. Over 130 proof and it is easy enjoyed neat.

Barrel 3505 Nose: chocolate, a little wild berry and some cinnamon. Taste: the rye spice is beautiful not overpowering. Green apple, minty chocolate. It just has this nice rye, oaky, spicy sweetness that I enjoy with eyes. Finish: the rye finish just stays with you in much a good way. Great purchase in with the $100 price.

This whisky is just beautiful. Little note on the nose: lemon and smoke Taste: smooth, nice smoke notes m, dried fruit. Finish: smoky dried fruit just stays with you.

I have been saving this bottle for years. Just a pour from time to time and tonight I finished the bottle. Nose: herbal with a note of spice Taste: first for a 109 proof rye it drinks like it is a 80 or 90 proof, super smooth. I get the rye spice but not over powering. Dried apple and a little spice. Nothing over powering but just great quality. Finish: the rye spice stays with you and just makes you smile. Overall: since it’s the same mash bill as every other rye in the wild Turkey line up you taste the similarities but with the extra aging and the artful blending this rye is just beautiful.

Nose: mild overall, notes of caramel, spice Taste: of course I get that upfront sherry flavor. Nice oak notes, dried fruit, Finish: this whiskey just sits with you in the best way.

Bottle has been open for about a month. Nose: oak and dark berries. Taste: the oak hits hard at first then the blackberry/apple comes through. But the oak comes back with a punch. I get a little strawberries and cream as well. Finish: the oak stays with you with the dark berry attempting to help the lingering musty taste. Overall: 6-12 years is the best bourbon I have had but this is enjoyable since it’s 18 years old. But with the low proof every sip taste watered down. I wish it was a non-chilled filtered bottling.

Nose: oaky, caramel, cherry Taste: the Smokey oak is powerful, but not over powerful. Dried fruit , vanilla, but with the 90 proof just seems a little watered down. Finish- now this is we’re the bourbon is a big win for me. The oak finish just stays with you.

Nose: caramel popcorn, nutty and a little oaky Taste: crème brûlée, toasted marshmallows, dried fruit. Overall: a good bourbon but absolutely not worthy of the $400 price tag.

Virginia ABC Private Select 10 year bourbon. Nose: floral, crème brûlée. Taste: toasted nuts, crème brûlée, dried fruits.
