Opened in 2015 tasted in January 2020 Color: deep ale, copper Nose: Extremely unique and complex. Notes include: light caramel, honey, oak, toffee, butterscotch. Best nose on any whiskey I have tried. Nothing else like it. The palate is great as well, but the nose is what really shines for me. Palate: deep rich oak with some cherry. Obviously quite smooth due to the age, but there is slightly more burn than I expected due to the proof. There's a unique flavor of honey that I rarely taste with bourbon. Beautiful medium finish. Overall, this is one of the top three whiskeys I have tried (if not the best). I understand many people are annoyed by Pappy due to the hype, but in my opinion Pappy deserves it. However, I find it ridiculous people pay close to $1000 for this bottle secondary. This bottle is certainly worth a couple hundred dollars, but I simply don't think it is worth it to pay thousands of dollars for it (unless $1000 isn't a lot of money to you). This is definitely worth trying at a bar at least once in your life if you love bourbon. Don't stress out if you can never find a bottle of Pappy. There are several bourbons that are widely available and a fraction of the price that aren't comparatively that much worse. I love everything about Pappy 15, but I also love other bourbons that are nearly as enjoyable that you can actually find.

Nose: I get luxardo/dark cherry and black licorice on the nose Palate: Much richer than most Irish whiskeys. Oily but not overbearing. Great pale gold color. Well worth the price. Even better than green spot and others in this range. If you like Irish whiskey you can never go wrong with this bottle.60.0 USD per Bottle

Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 1
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 6, 2020 (edited March 26, 2020)Phenomenal whiskey. Nose: ethanol first due to the proof. After a few minutes, I smelled strong maple and brown sugar. Unique sweetness and complexity. Only nose I’ve had that even compares to this is pappy 15. Taste: very rich, smooth, viscous. Velvety oak notes with a little bit of chocolate. Based on the flavor and smoothness, I would have never guessed the proof. Very little bite. Lingering finish, but it’s not as long as I expected given the proof. The taste and finish were both also sweeter than I expected. If you can somehow find this bottle, it’s worth it to me. One of my favorites I’ve ever had the chance to try. I get all BT are hyped up, but this one lives up to it in my opinion.17.0 USD per PourThe Woods Jupiter -
Nose: strong oak and caramel with some light pepper Palate: very smooth for the price and decent complexity. Honey and baking spice was what I mainly tasted. Medium finish that was not harsh at all. Overall, I really enjoyed this rye and would have it again. I think this is a good introductory rye because it has less spice than other eyes I’ve tried, and it is smoother than ryes such as Bulleit or Old Forester. Great value for the price38.0 USD per Bottle

*neat with splash of water* Nose: ethanol forward, some light smokiness and oak Palate: about as smooth as you would expect for $20 bourbon, but its drinkable nonetheless. I get some heavy oak and cherry overall. It tastes similar to a cherry cough syrup to me. Definitely a burn on the finish. Overall, it's just ok for the price. I don't really get the hype on this, but it wasn't terrible. Could be a good mixer for a Manhattan since it is a high rye, but other than that I would always take BT or Jameson over it.23.0 USD per Bottle
