New Riff 7 Year Sour Mash Single Malt (Fall 2023 Release)
American Single Malt — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 23, 2023 (edited December 1, 2023)Pretty complex. Lots of sherry and new oak. Flavors range from dates and raisins to dark chocolate and clove. Oddly one of the most drinkable whiskies I've had in a while.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Bunnahabhain 2013 Mòine Bordeaux (Fèis Ìle 2021)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 1, 2023Aroma is pretty complex... tarry smoke, jammy blackberry, and a bit of dried apricots. Taste is a bit hot and tannic upfront with a pop of raisins and dry red wine. The winey notes and slightly tarry slight meaty smoke longer on for a while. I love this distillery.Bunnahabhain Distillery -
Elements of Islay Beach Bonfire
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed October 1, 2023 (edited June 26, 2024)Listed abv is incorrect, it is actually 57.2% Sweet bbq and salt water aroma with lots of stone fruit and citric fruit. Flavor is a massive smack of herbaceous, maritime peat. Lingering burnt ends and subtly sweet confection finish it out. I'm looking forward to seeing how this changes as I continue to drink this bottle. The Islay Whisky Shop -
