Tastes

Pretty complex. Lots of sherry and new oak. Flavors range from dates and raisins to dark chocolate and clove. Oddly one of the most drinkable whiskies I've had in a while.

Aroma is pretty complex... tarry smoke, jammy blackberry, and a bit of dried apricots. Taste is a bit hot and tannic upfront with a pop of raisins and dry red wine. The winey notes and slightly tarry slight meaty smoke longer on for a while. I love this distillery.

Listed abv is incorrect, it is actually 57.2% Sweet bbq and salt water aroma with lots of stone fruit and citric fruit. Flavor is a massive smack of herbaceous, maritime peat. Lingering burnt ends and subtly sweet confection finish it out. I'm looking forward to seeing how this changes as I continue to drink this bottle.

Peat forward, but still very balanced. A great malt.
