Tastes

Just opened bottle. Young, raw, earthy, but hardly any burn, sweet and lovely pineaux de charentes late in the finish. PRELIMINARY rating only!

Probably the fruitiest whisky I have tried. "Delicious" might be the proper description. Also salty.

Decent dram.

Semi-blind. Points for complexity, but the type of peat or the campbeltown funk are just nog good for me. But tonight, with this line-up at least i found it much better than a few days ago when i had a dram from the same bottle (couldn't give it more than 3). Update 29 oktober 23: bottle 20% left, the peat is very pronounced, and very dry and even bitter, do not like it. That's probable what's bothering me with sprinbank the last 5-10 years. It really was different 15 years (and longer) ago, better to my taste.

Semi-blind. The words smooth, pure and strait where invented for this whisky.

Semi-blind with glencadam 18 and springbank 18. Theme: 18 years old. Realy lovely whisky, no extremes. Typical glen garioch taste with added wine/ sherry.

Winner of this blind tasting (with bruichladdich and hazelburn). Its delicate, normal, nothing fancy just good. Sweet, vanilla, toffee nose, malty palate and finish.

First time i smell lovely smokey/char flavor. Difficult to describe the rest of the flavour. Wouldn't describe it as zesty though. Used to have kind of minty finish but not today, its a bit sweet. Pitty the bottle is almost empty.
