Tastes

nose - classic bourbon on the sniff; strong vanilla and caramels, with a more subtle oak than a bourbon palette - follows through nicely, and then some. The vanilla and caramels are strong and smooth, effects from the used-white oak barrels this is aged in. This is a “smoothed out” bourbon experinece, very pleasing

nose - vanilla and fruity combo on the nosing taste - very fruity, masks much of the bourbon tasting

nose - leads sweet and savory, caramel and vanilla strongly, a typical bourbon nosing, if not slightly sweeter taste - starts with a more floral forward note on the palette, with the classic vanilla and caramel following comparatively, brt-01 is a more classic bourbon tasting to brt-02, but it has a lighter, simpler taste than it’s counterpart

nose - deep, oak forward note, a slight orange peel in there. definite chocolate under the oak taste - dusty oak, heavy chocolate on the palette that only deepens as it finishes very enjoyable pour

nose - oatmeal, baking spices, doughy forward to start. sweet baked goodness in spades as it warmed. taste - it’s got a simpler play on the palette, but still has the oatmeal on the front. smooth and light, with a touch of sweetness on the back end. it’s a bit short but very enjoyable pour

nose - lots of vanilla and oak immediately. strong and bold. taste - spice, and heavy oakiness from the beginning. the vanilla plays a nice follow through after the initial heat and oak spice. i would dub this bold blanton’s, as the experience is similar but stronger than the original single barrel

nose - comes on very subtly, with the lightest caramel and vanilla notes. taste - pleasant but short and very simple. there is a nice after-after taste of the light caramel from the nosing, which is nice. overall, it’s fine and the nosing and taste is pleasant enough, but the lower proof point leaves much to be desired.

nose - immediate cherry, candy notes, with a more subtle buttery taste - the cherry candy carrie’s through to the palette, very pleasant and sweet. the tasting ends quickly though, falling off quickly with not much more than a soft vanilla follow through. still, a solid experience!

nose - very simple, straight forward on nose. it has a soft vanilla and caramel aspect to it, however subtle taste - same if not softer and less complex than the nose plays… not much to sift through here. the addition of a young corn taste might be the most complex i get

nose - light vanilla, slight hint of spice and oak taste - corn forward, not much else, finishes quickly
