Nose- cream, chocolate, nuts Mouth- instant peanut brittle with a hint of chocolate, spice, cream, touch of pepper. Mouth- normal gravity not smooth but not fine or gritty. Finish - slight sweetness with pepper lingers a few minutes. I did not like this batch at first. It’s my fav larceny BP yet since I love peanuts.49.0 USD per Bottle

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye (Fall 2019)
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 12, 2021 (edited March 22, 2021)Nose: that sweet weller smell Mouth: smooth than rye spice, then weller sweetness, then full body rye mash ending quickly Full body. Finish: quick. hints of the baby saz Overall it’s excellent but I wanted a little more. -
This is not what I expected having had the reg batch Iowa 9 which I really liked. Nose- subtle, sweet, smoke Taste - smoke hits you hard, followed by heavy cloves and black cherry. Faint all spice and light oily feel Finish - smooth, low proof so no burn at all. I’m getting a cherry Dr Pepper on the finish. Overall it’s a bit over smoked for me. Would have liked to see this at a higher proof. I like the small batch better to be honest.

Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 22, 2020 (edited February 24, 2020)Nose: dark milky Carmel and maple Palate: smooth, rich, spice of cloves, pepper. Woody. Finish: Med-long, smooth, as bourbon fades and the spice sits. Score: 90/100 Value: good. 54$ paid I would keep on shelf. -
Very rich amber Nose: Carmel. Light spice. Palate: thin, leather, smoke, hint of floral, good spice/pepper Finish: pretty fast, the spice lingers for a bit. Etoh burn a bit more than I’d expect for a 7yr. Rate: 84/100 Value: not great. Many better alternates. Ratio not calculated. Flavor reminds me of Dickel
