I really enjoy the profile of this whisky. It’s not complex but it is excellently layered with different releases of flavor and is very smooth.

It’s OK. Right from the off you know it’s a Tennessee whisky. Not saying that is a bad thing, but it’s flavor profile is nothing special or even unique. For me it tastes similar to George Dickel Barrel Select which I would prefer over this and it is a few dollars less.

When I am in the mood for something other than bourbon this is a great alternative. The subtle rinse of rye gives a nice spice flavor and oh so smooth. However, if I am in the mood for a more traditional strong proportioned rye I would reach for something else, but I love this rye for what it is.

I agree with the experts review regarding the tasting notes. I had been wanting to try this bourbon for some time and my expectations were high. While I found it a little disappointing it was not bad at all, there was just nothing special or unique about it that I would put it into my bottle rotation. I think for the price ($25) it is good value, it just falls short for me. However, it may just be the perfect profile for you, so don’t be put off giving it a try.

This is a wonderful flavorful bourbon which I just keep coming back to. It is not too complex but it has personality, smooth with enough of a kick for me. I normally pick it up for around $36 and find it good value. I have seen it on the shelf at some outlets closer to $50 which is very sobering. If you can find it under $40 give it a go.

This bourbon excels as a base for a Manhattan. Not to my taste as a neat pour.

For the price I think you can’t beat it.

I am a big fan of Small Batch so I decided to try the Select. It is good, but does not excel enough to justify the difference in price for me.
