Frank August Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 23, 2024Overall a very smooth 100 proof small batch bourbon. If you are looking for a very mellow and fairly soft flavor profile with typical bourbon flavors and nothing punching you, this would be a good choice. Some might call it a Summer bourbon. Yeah maybe they are on to something.85.0 USD per Bottle -
Noah’s mill is a fairly unique profile in my opinion. Initially, the nose and the pallet is sweet, but quickly shows unique, musty, dusty qualities along with spice and cinnamon. Noah’s Mill set itself apart when compared to other quality bourbons with his overall complex flavor profile that has few comparisons.96.0 USD per Bottle

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B524
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 26, 2024 (edited December 4, 2024)Overall a very solid ECBP batch this time around with the B524.60.0 USD per Bottle -
I agreed that A124 is not the best ECBP release. But I’m about halfway through the bottle, and I am also continuing to sip A123 and B523. Although they are different, the A124 is not a catastrophe for the brand as some would suggest, because I find each of them pleasurable in their own way and still generally embodied the ECBP profile.

I currently have Vantage, Seagrass, Dovetail, and Bourbon Batch 35. Vantage is the lowest proof but is the least round and has spicier and sharper edges. I prefer this one the least of the four aforementioned (yes, Dovetail is more enjoyable and easier drinking despite the higher proof). Vantage is not “bad” but because of the others, I have relegated Vantage for use in spirit-forward cocktails. Really enjoy neat slow sipping the others.

Barrell Dovetail (125.24 proof)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 20, 2024 (edited June 4, 2024)Popped it open; first impression - I do like this. Agree that it is smooth, drinks well below the 125+ proof which is a major plus. Combines some sweet and spicy , although early on I predominantly taste the affects of the “Finishing” done by Barrell in my own experience of the finish. I am glad the finish does not impose too much on the profile. I Didn’t know what to expect with my first finished Whiskey. I look forward to see how this changes over time (next week, next month, etc.). But I expect to be excited to reach for it again.80.0 USD per BottleBarrell Craft Spirits
