There is a pleasant semi-sweet, cinnamon/honey flavor at first that was new and enjoyable. And then the aftertaste lingers on into the plain, familiar MGP Rye flavor notes. I didn't quite sense a blend of flavors... It's kind of like Diet Cola (not those modern zero sugar ones; the old Diet sodas) where it tastes like the original at first, but ends up with that bitter, synthetic flavor at the end. Just making an analogy; not saying MGP Rye is bitter, synthetic, or a bad thing (I do enjoy MGP rye whiskey a lot). I just think the MGP portion may be slightly overwhelming the overall scent and flavors of this whisky.30.99 USD per Bottle

This is probably the epitome of an entry level bourbon. Expectations shouldn't be so high for the more experienced. When I first tried this as a beginner, I thought it was rich, full, and had sweet notes of vanilla and molasses. Later on I revisited and everything felt so thin, weak, and watery. Priced very fairly despite being a difficult find, at least.26.99 USD per Bottle

Bulleit Rye
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed January 21, 2020 (edited February 21, 2020)It's a run-of-the-mill, basic MGP 95/5 rye whiskey. With the absence of other mash bills, there isn't much of a flavor spectrum to be enjoyed neat. However, being a nearly a total, all-rye whiskey, it does superbly mix as an ingredient with cocktails that specifically require rye whiskey. It's just not worth the MSRP price tag, though.34.99 USD per Bottle -
This is not a bad rye whisky at all, by any means. It's very full, rich, and sweet. However, there are other rye whisky options out there with a near exact similar flavor profile that cost much less I'd rather go with. If there was only one flavor note that stood out from the others, it'd justify the extra cost and I'd give it a higher rating.34.99 USD per Bottle

Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 8, 2020 (edited January 16, 2020)Full of flavors, sweet, and spicy! Definitely in league with those hard-to-find "uncut and unfiltered" bourbons, maybe better than some. Always available on the shelves, and up to $10 less ($20 when on sale) than the average barrel proof, cask strength types out there. How can this not become an instant favorite? When I get tired of chasing/hunting for those hard-to-find bourbons, this one is going to become one of my main barrel proof sippers.39.99 USD per Bottle -
Full, rich, sweet, and spicy taste profile, the best characteristics of a Rye whisky. I could regularly sip on this any day and every day. However, unless it was at least a Single Barrel, it's very difficult to accept its MSRP price tag. But it is definitely one of those whiskys one needs to try in life. You won't regret it.44.95 USD per Bottle
