I found this bourbon a great value; good for the price. My first impression: the scent was a delight! However, the scent alone must have raised my hopes to high. By all means, though, I was not disappointed. I can absolutely enjoy this, and drink it neat. I just thought something that smelled that good had to taste so much better. With a burst of spice, the palette was a brown sugary, caramel, mixed with an unusual woody finish (not the typical oak barrel I'm used to). Honestly, I prefer other brands in the same price range, and this won't be a repeat, regular purchase for me.22.99 USD per Bottle

My impression is... It's not as good people led on. Strangely I've always heard people claim Suntory Toki is some really good stuff, but I honestly don't feel it. It's really weak. Flavors are not as full (felt really thin and diluted), and the flavors drop suddenly into a sterilizing alcohol flavor (not ethanol, but that alcohol scent from hospitals). I don't know... I'm new here. Maybe Toki is a bottom shelf type, or meant as a mixer? Other Japanese whiskys in the $70-$100 range are marvelous, but I'd rather spend that much elsewhere (like Single Barrel, Barrel Proof bourbons, single malts, rye, etc.).36.99 USD per Bottle

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 15, 2020 (edited July 3, 2020)May be an unpopular opinion, but at this price range, I expected more. I've tried many bourbons that finish their last few months/years in [something else], and every one of them were stronger in proof and priced lower. It does have "delicious" flavors, but a bit of too much flavors, and I feel it loses it's identity as a bourbon. It is enjoyable, and I can understand people liking this drink, but for this price range, I would have at least expected a minimum of 100 proof and the feel for a bourbon. Sorry, it's just overrated to me. Won't be a repeat buy, but welcome, if offered.49.99 USD per Bottle -
Once upon a time, I had a bad experience with Four Roses Small Batch and vowed never to get anything from this brand. Luckily, I had a chance to try out their Single Barrel and... I was blown away! All highly rated reviews are true. The Single Barrel has become one of my all time favorite daily sippers. I get this on a regular basis now. However, if I had just one wish, I wish the MSRP was just... a tiny bit lower.44.99 USD per Bottle

Mellow Corn Bottled in Bond Whiskey
Corn — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 10, 2020 (edited June 24, 2020)Lots of positive remarks, yet such low ratings? I don't get it. I found this whiskey to be quite unique and enjoyable. Sweet corn, sweet caramel, nice heat ...maybe some slight bitter aftertaste, but not repulsive. Overall it's rich and full of flavor. It's aged, high proof, bonded; superbly bang-for-the-buck. I have no regrets. I'd say this is underrated.14.99 USD per Bottle -
Bardstown Bourbon Co. Fusion Series #1
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 14, 2020 (edited August 3, 2020)I felt lucky I was able to acquire this bourbon because (1) it's not available in my state, (2) a high-demand item that sells out quickly, and (3) was on sale for $5 off their price. Popular opinion or not, I'll just say it... It's not worth the price tag. For a bourbon that retails at $60, I expected a more full, rich, thick, and spicy palette in league with single barrels, cask strengths, barrel proofs, or non-chill filtered types. And if I'm not mistaken, this isn't even any of those types... just a plain blended bourbon. The fact they use an 11-yr old blend still doesn't justify because there are other brands that blend 16-yr old bourbons, for example, with a lower price tag. Not considering any details above, however, if I were handed this drink, I'd be very delighted and enjoyed it. It is good. If asked how much I thought a bottle would be, I would have ranged it at $35-$45, though.58.99 USD per Bottle -
As a fan of Wild Turkey products and the fact this product is not easy to come by, I think I set my expectations too high for this one because, overall, I was not too impressed. As a regular Rye whiskey drinker, I've experienced many brands. They all had something unique about them (even the sourced ones); however, this WT101 for some reason just didn't seem to have anything in particular to set itself apart; lacking in certain ways. Don't get me wrong, though. It is very drinkable and enjoyable. How can I put this? It's good...just not great. I did have a 1 liter bottle and finished it in a week, and I have no regrets.46.0 USD per Bottle
