Kirkland Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 23, 2021 (edited June 28, 2021)An Islay Single Malt, NAS, bottled at 50 ABV, other that that, not much info to be found. It’s got sea salt, vegetal peat, vanillla and caramel on the nose and palate, a little bitterness and heat on the medium finish. Reminds me Kilchoman Machir Bay more than anything else. -
Brandy de Jerez aged around 10 years in Oloroso casks. Not as sweet nor as refined as the “Finest Selection”. Oak, vanilla, figs, caramel and light spices on the nose. A little rough on the palate with raisins, wood notes, barrel spices, vanilla, caramel and hints of milk chocolate. Medium finish with nutty, bitter-sweet notes. A couple drops of water smoothed the rough edges.
